Scholarship Program

The Scholarship Program has assisted a number of young local students with their university course and/or accommodation fees, over the past 4 years.

2014 Scholarship Program

2014 Scholarship recipient

Rebecca Condon, a fourth year student at the University of Sydney, received $5,000, in early 2014, towards her university tuition and accommodation costs under MI’s Scholarship Program.   MI-arrow-yellow.gif Media release.

2015 Scholarship Program

As of 2015, there will be no formal Scholarship Program. However, we will continue to support local students where possible, through the provision of Vacation Work.

Rebecca Condon is thrilled to receive this year’s scholarship. Rebecca is from an original farming family in the MIA, with links dating back to 1919 when her great grandfather, Thomas Condon, helped dig the irrigation channels before settling in Yenda. "This historical connection has always held a special place in my heart and is the foundation of my desire to give back to my community on the completion of my degree" .
