Work Experience and Vacation Work

Work experience for high school students

We continue to work with local high schools to support the growth of young people through the GetSet and associated LYNKS programs. Work experience opportunities for high school students are offered across a range of disciplines and in many of our business units.

A school-based traineeship in Conservation and Land Management was introduced in 2011.   A Wade High School student worked one day each week at MI, as part of his Year 11 and 12 studies for two years. He has just completed Year 12 and received a Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management in addition to his HSC.

Vacation work for university students

We also support our young local talent, and encourage city based students to the region, by providing vacation work to University students, and over the past few  years have provided vacation work experience in a range of vocational areas, such as Engineering, Environmental and Business.
