Mirrool Creek Click here to download Mirrool Creek Restoration Project-Update June 08 (pdf 476kb). The project involves improving the flow in Mirrool Creek to improve the ability of Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) to deliver water to Barren Box Storage and Wetland, Mirrool Creek pumpers and downstream users. Additionally, the project aims to deliver improved biodiversity outcomes through the creation of a healthy biodiversity and vegetation corridor running through the middle of the MIA. This will assist both MI and the Murrumbidgee CMA to meet the biodiversity targets set under MIA EnviroWise and the Murrumbidgee Catchment Action Plan (CAP). The project will also provide MI with an opportunity to improve our community engagement methods and form a blue print on how MI as a company, engages our stakeholders. Moreover, the project will demonstrate that the integration of irrigation supply and drainage and the provision of ecological services can be more successfully achieved through understanding people's aspirations for the future. In a parallel process, MI will seek to identify and integrate new ideas and approaches and new opportunities for our company and its shareholders.
