MI and the Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority, through the MIA EnviroWise program, have developed an exciting new primary school teaching resource that describes the delivery and use of water in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA).
The imaginative animation and associated workbook tell the story of two characters, ‘Eb’ and his sister ‘Flo’, who fall from their raincloud into the upper reaches of the Murrumbidgee River near the Snowy Mountains and journey to the MIA. Eb and Flo have an important story to tell. The animation has been designed to help primary school students understand the water cycle, the role of water in food production and the importance of irrigation to the MIA and the wider region.
The animation and workbook are the final products in a suite of educational resources that have been developed and funded by the EnviroWise program over the past 10 years.
