SHAREHOLDERS SUPPORT PURCHASE OF HANWOOD FARM23 June 2005 The General Meeting held by Murrumbidgee Irrigation on Wednesday night was well attended by shareholders. Dick Thompson, Chairman, advised that he was “delighted with the overwhelming support for the Special Resolution to cancel the 286 shares attached to Farm 108, Hanwood. This has cleared the way for us to finalise purchase of this farm, and continue the planning process for the establishment of a state the of art work-centre in Griffith.” He added that “Murrumbidgee Irrigation had been looking for some time for a suitable site for the future integrated Griffith work-centre, and Farm 108 is ideal.” “The meeting provided us with an excellent opportunity to update shareholders on company activities and the progress of significant water issues. Topics of particular interest were permanent water trade and the National Water Initiative, the Barren Box project, water pricing and the current review of MIA EnviroWise.” “I would like to thank our shareholders and guests for their input to the meeting. Shareholder contributions are, and will continue to be, highly valued in company decision making,” said Mr Thompson. |
