2006/07 Irrigation Season commences

Murrumbidgee Irrigation announced today that the 2006/07 irrigation season would commence the week beginning August 21.

For customers supplied from the Main Canal system the commencement date will be Monday August 21 and for customers supplied from the Sturt Canal system, Thursday August 24. Wah Wah customers will be supplied from the newly completed Barren Box Storage commencing Monday August 21.

Brett Tucker, Chief Executive said “the delay for customers supplied from the Sturt Canal system is due to works being carried out at Yanco Weir by State Water. Works have now been completed and the Gogeldrie Weir pool is being filled.” Murrumbidgee Irrigation will fill the Sturt system as soon as water becomes available.
