CORBIE HILL SYSTEM CLOSURE FOR WINTER

Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) advises users of the Corbie Hill pumping station that it will be closed from this Sunday 17th June for the winter period.

"This is an annual event and allows us to carry out routine repairs and maintenance to the system in preparation for the upcoming 2007/08 season," advised Russell Webb, Operations Manager for Murrumbidgee Irrigation.

Orders will be accepted from Friday 15th June through to Sunday 17th June for water taken up until midnight Sunday 17th June. The third rostered watering event for eligible high security users in late June will still be able to be carried out for users in this district. Information regarding specific dates for the third watering event will be advised shortly.

The Corbie Hill system supplies around eighty customers in this area. Maintenance will include scheduled checks of the pressurised pumps and pipeline system as well as to the Main Canal erosion control within this area to ensure life and longevity of the channel system. The pumping station will reopen at the commencement of next season.

Customers with any enquiries regarding the system closure or ordering should contact the MI Irrigation Services team in Leeton on 6953 0100.
