3rd ROSTERED WATERING EVENT FOR HS STARTS 24TH JUNE

Following recent consultation with eligible high security customers, Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) advises that the third rostered watering will commence 24th June.

"We have been monitoring the situation for the last few weeks since the previous watering at the end of April. The recent rainfall and improved system efficiencies allowed us to delay the final 06/07 watering until late June," said Managing Director, Brett Tucker.

Orders open Monday 18th June and close 5pm Thursday 21st June. Customers should review their requirements immediately and place orders within this timeframe. MI cannot guarantee delivery of late orders which will be placed at the back of the queue and subject to water availability at the time of supply between the 24th and 29th of June. Customers are also advised that if they order water but do not take it, it will be debited to their account regardless.

"It's been an extremely challenging year for MIA irrigators and for our company. However I am extremely impressed with the way our customers and staff have worked together to effectively use the limited resource we have had. Constant consultation with customers to determine their needs and timings along with the system operating at the highest efficiency level ever experienced in the MIA, has allowed us to get permanent plantings through to the end of June," said Mr Tucker.

Mr Tucker further advised that "growers should aim to end the season in June with a full moisture profile if they have concerns about early season requirements. We have been asked by customers to delay the commencement of the 07/08 season for as long as possible to save water in these uncertain times."
