Reducing Water Charges – Amalgamation of Landholdings

From 2009-10, customers can apply to amalgamate their landholdings to reduce annual fixed water charges.

Amalgamation reduces Farm Connection charges to 1 charge and allows bulking up of Facilities Charges.

The criteria required to be eligible includes that all the landholdings must be –

  • Held under title in exactly the same name;
  • Adjacent to each other;
  • Supplied from the same supply channel; and
  • In the same Financial Pricing Group.

Successful applicants will hold only one Water Delivery Contract and will be entitled to only one vote if “A” and/or “B” class shares are held.

Future separation of the landholdings, or reversal of the application, will require submission of a subdivision application.

The Company may also impose a condition requiring the number of outlets to be reduced.

Final approval is at the discretion of the Company, and applications must be submitted prior to 31st July to take effect, if approved, in that year.
