Water Safety

Murrumbidgee Irrigation warns of the dangers of swimming in irrigation channels, they are unpredictable and are not a safe location to swim or play.

There are many hidden dangers such as:

  • strong undercurrents;
  • various depths;
  • regulator gates that can open without notice and create a trap;
  • siphons and pipes can create powerful suction or a water surge; and
  • submerged objects, rocks, debris and snakes can be hidden below the surface

Sponsorship and Donations

Our corporate philosophy includes a commitment to act as a responsible corporate citizen. We demonstrate this commitment in many ways.

Our employees enthusiastically support the fundraising events of a number of charitable organisations throughout the year. Employee support is matched by a corporate contribution. Supported events  include the Children’s Medical Research Institute Jeans for Genes day, Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea and Relay for Life,  and Beyond Blue’s Movember.

We support a variety of community based projects, events and charities that reflect our vision, mission, commitment, objectives and strategies as found in our Corporate Plan 2010-2016.

Our Sponsorship and Donations Policy ensures a coordinated and equitable approach to our corporate social responsibilities.

No Swimming

Don’t swim in irrigation channels.
