Updated 13 January 2022

There have been black water events at river sources upstream of our Main Canal as a result of recent heavy rains which are impacting the quality of water feeding into the Main Canal.

Acting under instruction from the flood management authority, we are diverting water at North Merribee to protect houses and residents, and this will impact water quality downstream of North Merribee over the coming days.

Customers will need to make their own assessment on the suitability of supplied water for their needs.

We are  liaising with the relevant agencies to support their works to reduce the impacts as much as possible and have advised our town water supply customers, Griffith City Council and Leeton Shire Council, about potential impacts.
