We are seeking a Manager Operational Technology to lead the strategy, planning, and delivery for maintenance of our automated infrastructure such as electro-mechanical, metering, and pump control assets. This role is also responsible for the design, maintenance and continuous improvement across all SCADA, communications, and industrial controls systems.
About the role
- Lead and build on an already embedded culture of safety-first, that is focused on working across the business and delivering outcomes that enable our Corporate Plan.
- Work with an industry leader to drive continued transformational change through maintenance excellence, autonomous and integrated systems, and data-driven decision making.
- Lead maintenance and operational technology teams, strategy, and governance to support asset performance and reliability critical to 24/7 operations.

Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) is one of the largest private irrigation companies in Australia. We are owned by our shareholder customers and serve over 3,000 landholdings within an area of 378,000+ hectares. The irrigation water and drainage services we provide have helped create a diverse and highly productive agricultural region known as the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA). The MIA is home to over 50,000 people with most jobs tied inextricably to the water we supply to farms and industry. We are a dynamic and innovative regional company that employs approximately 160 people at two locations in the MIA - Griffith and Leeton.

About you
- Demonstrated senior leadership driving maintenance strategy, planning and delivery, underpinned by industry best-practice frameworks and methodologies.
- A strong track record delivering preventative maintenance programs that drive asset reliability and operational excellence, including development of policies and procedures.
- Experience in data-driven leadership, applying analytics to drive performance, enhance decision-making and increase operational autonomy.
- Demonstrated leadership in the design, implementation, and governance of industrial control, SCADA, and communications systems.
- Degree Qualified in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or similar) or extensive leadership experience in a similar role with suitable trade qualifications.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in program and project management, leading initiatives across a variety of domains.
- Commitment to safety, along with a strong values culture and a preparedness to ‘walk the talk’.
