Make meaningful impact in a values-driven organisation.

At Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI), we’re proud to be a regional leader delivering innovative irrigation solutions and supporting the communities we serve. Our job is simple - to deliver water in the best way possible.

We’re looking for a People and Culture Officer to join our dynamic team and help shape the employee experience across the organisation. This is more than just a HR admin role—it’s an opportunity to contribute to a high-performing, inclusive and purpose-led workplace.

Why join MI?

We offer:

  • Competitive remuneration and access to salary packaging options
  • Career development through mentoring, training and internal mobility
  • Company benefits including annual skin checks and flu shots, an annual fitness payment, life insurance cover and access to other wellbeing initiatives.
  • A culture built on Clarity, Connection, Vulnerability and Improvement

About the role

As our People and Culture Officer, you’ll be a key enabler of smooth and effective HR operations. You’ll support the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to employee development and offboarding—while maintaining systems, coordinating processes, and providing first-level support to employees and leaders.

You’ll work closely with the People and Culture Business Partners and contribute to a positive, compliant and people-focused HR environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, development and offboarding processes
  • Maintain HR and L&D systems and records with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Prepare contracts, letters, reports and other documentation
  • Support payroll processing and resolve related queries
  • Assist with policy implementation and process improvement initiatives
  • Liaise with training providers and support learning and development activities
  • Provide responsive HR support to employees and leaders

What you’ll bring

Essential:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in HR, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or HRIS systems
  • Current ‘C’ class motor vehicle license
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to the Griffith Area (or its surrounds).
  • Commitment to a strong values culture and a preparedness to ‘walk the talk’

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or related field
  • Experience in payroll, WHS or training coordination
  • Understanding of employment legislation and enterprise agreements

If you are ready to take on this challenging and rewarding role, we want to hear from you! Apply now to join our team and make a difference.
