About the role
The Product Development Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, commercial performance, and lifecycle management of a portfolio of infrastructure and technology-enabled products and solutions. The role translates customer, operational and market insights into clear product strategies, investment priorities and delivery roadmaps that deliver measurable value for customers and sustainable returns for the company. This is a senior contributor role with high influence and decision making, requiring strong commercial judgment, systems thinking and the ability to lead complex initiatives through influence rather than direct control.
Key responsibilities:
- Own and continuously refine the product strategy and roadmap for the assigned portfolio, aligned to corporate strategy, customer needs and commercial objectives
- Lead products through the full lifecycle from discovery and validation through development, launch, adoption, optimisation and retirement
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, research opportunities and partnerships that support organisational strategy and long-term capability
- Provide clear product direction to engineering, data science, IT, operations and external partners through well-defined requirements and outcome-based success measures
- Engage directly with customers, operational teams, partners and leadership to understand needs, test assumptions and inform product decisions
- Work closely with stakeholders including customer services, data science, engineering, information technology and operations, balancing customer outcomes, risk, cost and long-term asset and technology strategy
What you’ll bring
- Degree qualification in engineering, technology, business, agriculture or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5 years experience in product management, solution management or innovation roles within operational or infrastructure environments
- Demonstrated experience leading products or initiatives through full lifecycle stages including discovery, investment decision making and delivery
- Strong ability to influence cross functional teams without formal authority
- Proven commercial judgement including prioritisation, trade off analysis and value realisation
- Experience operating in regulated, asset intensive or technology enabled environments
If you’re ready to bring your business analysis skills to a role where your work will have a visible impact across systems, processes and customer outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.
