About the role 

We are looking for a Program Manager to join the Asset Performance and Delivery team at this exciting time. This role is a pivotal role that provides program leadership in our ongoing capital upgrades, modernisation and water-savings projects. The role is responsible for delivering both internal capital and federal government-funded programs to ensure an industry leading operation and service to our customers.  You will lead a team of project managers and other professionals driving continuous improvement of our network and infrastructure and delivering water in the best way possible. 

Reporting to the General Manager - Asset Performance and Delivery, the Program Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and support to the project management teams and internal stakeholder groups with respect to design, contract management, program performance, productivity measurement and reporting to successfully deliver programs that align & benefit the long-term strategic goals of the organisation.

Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) is one of the largest private irrigation companies in Australia. We are owned by our shareholder customers and serve over 3,000 landholdings within an area of 378,000+ hectares. The irrigation water and drainage services we provide have helped create a diverse and highly productive agricultural region known as the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA). The MIA is home to over 50,000 people with most jobs tied inextricably to the water we supply to farms and industry. We are a dynamic and innovative regional company that employs approximately 160 people at two locations in the MIA - Griffith and Leeton.

What you'll bring 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and accreditation with Engineers’ Australia 
  • Extensive experience & knowledge in project delivery & management 
  • Extensive experience of safe work procedures, practices & relevant state regulations
  • Demonstrated ability in positive communication, accountability & team leadership 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management tools and methodologies 
  • Current ‘C’ class motor vehicle license
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to the Griffith Area (or its surrounds).
  • A ‘can do’ attitude focused on delivering outcomes
  • Commitment to a strong values culture and a preparedness to ‘walk the talk’.
