We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you’ll be a trusted technology business partner - working closely with leaders and teams across MI to understand business needs, identify risks and opportunities, and translate these into high‑value technology solutions.

About the role
Working closely with the General Manager - Information & Control Systems, you will play a key role in shaping MI’s technology direction, leading complex initiatives, supporting digital transformation and AI adoption, and strengthening our technology governance and data maturity. This is a highly collaborative role that connects people, process and technology to reduce friction, improve decision‑making, and ensure our systems evolve in line with MI’s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, risks, opportunities and future requirements.
- Translate priorities into technology solutions, digital improvements and transformation initiatives.
- Contribute to MI’s technology strategy, digital roadmap and governance practices.
- Lead business analysis activities including requirements gathering, process mapping and solution design.
- Prepare clear, high‑quality functional specifications, system interfaces and process documentation.
- Lead testing and quality assurance to ensure solutions meet business needs and deliver value.
- Strengthen data capability through data standards, master data management and insights to support decision‑making.
- Lead the delivery of technology and transformation initiatives through workshops, planning, stakeholder engagement and change management.
What you’ll bring
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
- Professional accreditation in business analysis and/or project management.
- Demonstrated experience in Information Systems, digital delivery or transformation environments.
- Demonstrated experience working on complex or enterprise‑wide technology projects.
- Strong skills in requirements elicitation, business analysis, process mapping and documentation.
- Experience preparing functional specifications, business cases or technical reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.
- Current ‘C’ class motor vehicle license
- Live in or be willing to relocate to the Griffith Area (or its surrounds).
Desirable:
- Experience delivering enterprise system projects, ideally within TechnologyOne or similar ERP.
- Experience in infrastructure, utilities or asset‑intensive industries.
- Knowledge of the water industry or relevant regulatory requirements.
- Awareness of WHS practices relevant to technology and project environments.
